Mark Haviland

About me

EVP Brand & Sustainability at Rakuten, Vice-Chair of the Marine Conservation Society, and Enterprise Advisor at SEN charity Talentino.

"The era of rabid consumption, with its scant regard for the environmental and social consequences, is coming to an end. Growth alone is no longer acceptable. Investors and policy-makers are slowly taking note. Inevitable rule changes cannot come fast enough, and they must include the voices of the global south, if not be led by them.
The picture is mixed across the globe, but people and companies that do not recognise this are in the minority. I’ve been part of that era all my career and am now dedicated to helping us move beyond it; profitably, but with purpose. Yes, adaptation and change remain slow and insignificant, but the tide is turning.
The early days of the sustainability revolution are here."

Mark works with graduates, business and NGOs to help establish clear understanding of the issues and the pathways to accelerate this movement; one that is essential if we are to maintain and regenerate the socio-environmental ecosystems we all rely on.
